Record number of guns found at TSA checkpoints last year, 86% of them loaded, agency says
"Nearly 6,000 guns were found in carry-on luggage at checkpoints nationwide in 2021, breaking a record set just two years earlier, according to the Transportation Security Administration."
"The 5,972 guns intercepted at U.S. airports last year represent a 35% increase, or more than 1,500 more weapons, compared with 2019. The agency also reports that 86% of those firearms were loaded."
Three pro tips:
1. Don't EVER bring a loaded gun to the airport
2. If you must travel with your gun, put it UNLOADED in your checked luggage.
3. Learn the firearm rules and restrictions of the place you are going before you go.
If you can't figure this out, you should lose your concealed carry license.
